here's the dimensions of the Original Magic Mirror:

Antique Frame: 13.5 inches wide x 16 inches tall, the oval is 3 inches from each border
Two-Way Mirror: 10 inches wide x 12 inches tall, standard sample size is 12 x 12 so it was cut to this size
The monitor used is the Samsung SyncMaster 152N, it's a 15" monitor with dimensions of 10.5 inches x 13.5 inches, it's mounted rotated 90 degrees (15" monitors aren't being sold new typically but very easy & cheap to get used on eBay, Craigslist, etc, $50 USD is a typical price)
The drywall cutout is 12.5 inches wide x 14 inches tall

Hope that helps

Thanks so much, I think the proportions are important for the over all effect and yours looks great.
I’ll be gathering all my parts before I start. Bums me out when I cant complete a project.

Update, I found a vendor on Ebay who sells a frame that will work perfectly (China). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWNX:IT And ask for a gold mat with an 8" X 10" oval cutout (no extra charge).

The frame has the 2 way mirror installed.

wow, so cool, thanks for sharing, I'll post a link to this on the site as many others ask how to get the frame, how is the quality/construction of the frame. It's nice they do the oval matte too! Send a pic of the finished project if you don't mind and I'll post that on the site as well.

I'm glad the site is back, :D Any way the quality of the frame looks good from the front and the construction is OK(made in China), and they will supply any color mat cut out to your specs, even oval. I chose the 10" X 12" frane with a gold mat and 8" X 10" oval (at no extra charge).
And yes I would be happy to post a picture of the finished project.

I have followed the far sides advice and purchased the frame. i also purchased the glass 12x12 so i assume it will need to be cut to size.
Is there a specific way to cut the glass or should i take it some where?

you'll need a glass cutter, I'm not expert there so may be better to take it to a place. For mine, www.hiddentelevision.com was nice enough to do a custom cut before they shipped it

A local glass shop cut mine for $2.00, well worth it. But if hiddentelevision will cut it even better, I never though to ask them.
